Pips Picks: Great Dog Toys for Chompers

Pip, being a chomper, has taught me what are some of the great dog toys for this chew style. She trots about chomping happily on her toys. Kongs, balls, squeaky toys all get the same treatment. Over the years she has worn down her canine teeth as Chompers tend to do. This does not bother her a bit and I’ve never heard of a dog that it did bother.

Here are some of her absolute favorite toys that have lasted a longtime in our home.

Favorite Soft Dog Ball Toy

This miraculous material stays flexible and supple no matter what. We’ve had a large one for several years and now a small one and neither shows any sign of wear at all.

Getting kibble into it is a hassle so it is not a favorite food dispensing toy. I put a few in from time to time but would never recommend this as a meal-management tool for daily use. Nonetheless, fantastic toy for Chompers!

Pip’s Favorite Edible Chew

Pip enjoys the crunch and I enjoy the natural good-for-her-joint yummies in this chew. An American made chew product, which is important to me. These are not long lasting chews but they are fun and safe chews.

Pip’s Favorite Throw Toy

This is, by far, bar none, Pip’s favorite toy in the universe. She is obsessed with it. I like it because an easy swing gives me a good long throw. She loves it because the blue-and-white kongs are soft and chompable.

This is also an awesome tug toy but a lousy chew toy. She never gets to chew on it, we play then I put it away. That is one of the secrets of its long life here with each one lasting for years.

KONG Cool Kong Dog Toy

Pip’s Favorite Squeaky Dog Toy

The boar we have is stuffed with cottony fiber giving the toy a bit more heft. The squeaker died quickly (typically) but the toy itself as lasted now for over a year. The pup I am holding in the logo ate the tusks off but it lives on as an indoor catch, fetch and gentle tug toy.
